Do I need a cookie banner with Pomelo?
Pomelo doesn't use cookies and is designed to meet GDPR consent exemption criteria. If your site has no other advertising trackers (Meta Pixel, Google Ads…), you won't need a banner for audience measurement. We detail the conditions in our GDPR exemption guide.
Where is data processed?
In Europe, on European infrastructure. Data is never transferred to the US or shared with third parties. This is a design decision, not an option to toggle.
What do I lose compared to GA4?
Individual tracking (user profiles, retargeting, behavioral cohorts) and advertising integration (Google Ads, multi-channel attribution). In return, you gain simplicity, compliance, and faster page loads. Our detailed comparison explains the trade-offs by business profile.
Is Pomelo suited for agencies and multi-client freelancers?
Yes. Starter includes 10 sites, Pro includes unlimited sites. Each site gets its own dashboard. Read-only shared dashboards are planned for simpler client reporting.
How much does Pomelo cost?
The Free plan (€0) includes 25,000 events/month for 3 sites. Starter at €5/month covers 100,000 events for 10 sites. Pro at €19/month covers 500,000 events with unlimited sites. Beyond that, volume pricing on request. Final pricing confirmed at launch.
How heavy is the Pomelo script?
Under 1 KB, roughly 50 times lighter than GA4's script (~45 KB). This improves your Core Web Vitals and potentially your Google search rankings.
Does Pomelo track traffic from AI tools (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude)?
This is a topic we're actively following. Identifying and categorizing referral traffic from AI tools is among our development priorities.
What happens if I exceed my event quota?
No cutoff. Overage is billed at €10 per million additional events, prorated to your actual usage. Example: 750,000 events on the Pro plan (500k included) = €19 + €2.50 = €21.50.
